The plane was completely full.
A young soldier had been trying all day to get home before his daughter’s birthday.
But every flight was sold out.
Defeated, he sat near the gate and called his wife.
“I don’t think I’m going to make it.”
A few seats away, an elderly man overheard the conversation.
When boarding began, the old man quietly walked to the counter.
A minute later, an employee approached the soldier.
“Sir, we have a seat for you.”
Confused, he looked around.
The flight had been sold out.
As he boarded, he noticed the elderly man still sitting alone in the terminal.
The man smiled and waved.
The soldier landed just in time.
His daughter ran into his arms.
It was the best birthday she ever had.
