Customers thought it was weird.

Employees thought it was annoying.

Every night.

Exactly 8:57 PM.

The same song played.

Not random.

Always the same.

No matter who worked.

No matter who was shopping.

Fifty years earlier…

he met his wife in that supermarket.

She worked the bakery.

He stocked shelves.

Every evening at 8:57 PM, the store closed.

And one particular song played over the speakers.

That was when he gathered enough courage to ask her on a date.

She said yes.

They married.

Raised children.

Built a life.

When she died, he sold almost everything.

Except the supermarket.

And every night…

at exactly 8:57 PM…

their song still plays.

Not for customers.

For her.
