A woman spotted…
A cardboard box…
Shaking beside the road.
Inside…
Five tiny puppies.
Cold.
Hungry.
Terrified.
But the note said…
“There were six.”
She searched everywhere.
Then…
She heard the weakest little cry…
Coming from the storm drain.

Without thinking, the woman climbed into the shallow storm drain.
Curled against the cold concrete was the smallest puppy of them all.
He was too weak to bark.
She wrapped him in her jacket and reunited him with his brothers and sisters.
Over the next few weeks, she bottle-fed every puppy until they were healthy again.
Soon, loving families adopted all six.
The tiniest puppy—the one rescued from the drain—never left her side.
She hadn’t planned on keeping a dog.
But sometimes…
The one you rescue ends up rescuing you.
