A crowded pool…
Kids laughing…
Parents watching.
Then…
The lifeguard suddenly blew the whistle.
Everyone looked…
At one little boy.
But he wasn’t the one in danger.
A tiny girl…
Was silently sinking…
Right behind him.
By the time people noticed…
It was almost too late.

The little boy had seen the girl disappear beneath the water before anyone else.
Instead of panicking, he pointed and shouted to the lifeguard.
The lifeguard dove in immediately and pulled the girl to safety.
She coughed, cried, and then wrapped her arms around her mother.
Everyone praised the lifeguard.
But he shook his head and smiled.
“The real hero is him.”
The crowd applauded as the shy little boy looked down at his feet.
His quick action had saved a life.
Sometimes…
Heroes don’t wear uniforms.
Sometimes they’re just kids who choose to pay attention.
