People in the village thought the old man had lost his mind.
Every winter, he left meat outside his remote cabin deep in the mountains.
Not for dogs.
For a wild wolf.
For years, nobody believed him.
Until one freezing night during a blizzard, neighbors noticed something terrifying.
The old man’s cabin lights suddenly went dark.

The wolf barked aggressively before running several feet away into the snow.
Then stopping.

As if begging them to follow.
Finally, three men grabbed flashlights and followed the animal through the blizzard toward the mountains.
That’s when they found the old man’s cabin completely buried beneath fallen snow and collapsed wood after part of the roof gave way.
Inside, the old man was trapped beneath debris.
Barely conscious.
He later explained he had secretly fed the starving wolf every winter for nearly six years after finding it injured in a trap as a pup.
Despite remaining wild, the wolf never forgot him.
