Every Friday at exactly 11:40 PM, the elderly woman called the same taxi company.
Same pickup location.
Same destination.
Same silence during the ride.
The driver eventually memorized her routine.
She always carried flowers.

“My son died in that house fourteen years ago,” she whispered softly.
