Nobody recognized the little boy standing in the back of the funeral.
He couldn’t have been older than 10.
While everyone else wore black suits and dresses, he stood there in dirty clothes holding a single white flower.
Nobody knew who he was.
Not even the family.
The funeral was for a wealthy businessman who had suddenly died the week before.
People described him as cold, powerful, and impossible to impress.

But the little boy couldn’t stop crying.
After the ceremony ended, the child slowly walked to the coffin and placed the flower on top.
Then he whispered something that made the businessman’s wife freeze in horror.
“What do you mean he paid for my food every month?” she asked.
The boy looked confused.
“He told me not to tell anyone,” he said.
Suddenly, the entire room went silent.
Because nobody in the family knew the businessman had been secretly visiting the orphanage for years…
(Part 2 in comments)
The businessman’s wife stared at the little boy in disbelief.
“Every month,” the child said quietly. “He brought food for all of us.”
Nobody spoke.
The boy reached into his pocket and pulled out dozens of small drawings folded carefully together.
Pictures of him and the businessman eating, laughing, and playing soccer outside the orphanage.
“He said people only saw his money,” the boy whispered.
“But he wanted at least one person to see his heart.”
By now, even the funeral guests were crying.
Then the orphanage director stepped forward with a box filled with letters.
Hundreds of them.
Each one written by children whose lives had been changed by the man nobody truly understood until after he died.
