The Man Who Kept Buying the Same Broken Watch Every Day

Every morning at exactly 9:10 a.m., a man walked into the same small watch repair shop.

And every day, he bought the same broken watch.

The shop owner was confused.

The watch didn’t work.

The glass was cracked.

The hands never moved.

But the man always paid full price.

Never asked for change.

Never explained anything.

Just took the watch and left.

This went on for weeks.

Until one day, the shop owner decided to follow him.

The man walked through quiet streets and stopped at a small bench near a park.

He sat down.

Opened the watch.

And stared at it for a long time.

Then he whispered something.

Something the shop owner couldn’t hear.

Suddenly, the man looked up.

Directly at him.

Even though he was hiding.

And then he said:

“I know you’ve been following me.”

The shop owner froze.

The man slowly raised the broken watch.

And it started ticking.

Part 2 in the comments.

The shop owner stepped out from behind the trees, shaking.

“I don’t understand… how did it start working?”

The man smiled slightly.

“It only works when I stop running from it.”

He handed the watch over.

The cracked glass suddenly showed something impossible.

Not time.

But moments.

Flashes of a life he had forgotten.

A hospital room.

A car accident.

A child’s laughter.

The shop owner stepped back in shock.

The man stood up.

“This watch doesn’t tell time,” he said quietly.

“It shows what you lost when you stopped paying attention.”

Then he walked away.

And the watch stopped again.
