The Delivery Driver Thought the Box Was Empty

The cardboard box sat beside the road for two days.

People ignored it.

Drivers passed it.

Cyclists passed it.

Nobody stopped.

Then a delivery driver noticed something.

The box moved.

Just once.

He stopped his van.

Walked over.

And gently lifted one corner.

Inside the box was a newborn lamb.

Weak.

Cold.

Barely able to lift its head.

Investigators later believed it had wandered away from a nearby property and somehow ended up trapped inside the discarded box during heavy rain.

The small opening allowed enough air in to survive.

But not much else.

The delivery driver wrapped the lamb in his jacket while waiting for rescuers.

Veterinarians later confirmed that another night outdoors likely would have been fatal.

Months later, the lamb was thriving at a local sanctuary.

The delivery driver still visited occasionally.

He joked that it was the strangest package he never delivered.
