The Old Man Bought Two Movie Tickets Every Week

Every Friday for years…

An old man bought two movie tickets.

But he always entered the theater alone.

The employees noticed.

The customers noticed.

Nobody understood why.

One day, a young cashier finally asked him.

The old man’s answer left her fighting back tears.

PART 2 IN COMMEN

The cashier had seen him every Friday for nearly three years.

Always two tickets.

Always one person.

Curious, she finally asked why.

The old man smiled softly and looked down at the extra ticket.

“My wife and I used to come here every Friday night.”

He paused for a moment.

“She passed away three years ago.”

The cashier’s eyes filled with tears.

“Then why do you still buy two tickets?” she asked.

The old man looked toward the theater doors.

“Because this was our favorite thing to do together.”

He gently held the unused ticket.

“It helps me feel like she’s still beside me.”

The cashier couldn’t speak.

Neither could the customers who had overheard.

That evening, when the movie started, the old man sat quietly in his usual seat.

And beside him…

An empty chair filled with a lifetime of memories.
