For three months, my packages kept disappearing.
At first, I blamed the delivery drivers.
Then I blamed my bad luck.
But after the fifth package vanished, I installed a security camera.
The next morning, I checked the footage.
And there he was.
My 72-year-old neighbor, Mr. Jenkins.
Walking right up to my porch.
Picking up my package.
And carrying it straight into his house.
I was furious.
Instead of confronting him, I decided to catch him red-handed.
So I ordered the cheapest thing I could find online and waited.
The package arrived two days later.
Ten minutes later, it disappeared.
Perfect.
I walked to his house, knocked on the door, and prepared for an argument.
But when he opened the door, what I saw behind him made absolutely no sense.
My missing packages were there.
All of them.
Unopened.
Stacked neatly from floor to ceiling.
And then he said something that left me completely speechless.
Part 2 is in the comments.
Mr. Jenkins looked at me and said:
“Oh good, you’re here.”
I stared at the mountain of packages.
“What is all this?”
He smiled.
“I’ve been protecting them.”
Apparently, he had convinced himself that porch pirates were targeting our neighborhood.
Every time he saw a package delivered, he would sneak over, take it, and store it in his guest room “for safekeeping.”
Then he’d wait for the owner to come ask for it.
The problem?
Nobody ever did.
Because nobody knew HE was taking them.
When I pointed this out, he sat silently for a few seconds.
Then said:
“Well… that explains a lot.”
We spent the next two hours returning packages to confused neighbors.
For months afterward, everyone called him “The Porch Pirate Protector.”
And somehow, he was weirdly proud of it. 😂
