The waves were getting worse.
Most boats had already returned to shore.
But an old fisherman spotted something in the distance.
At first, he thought it was debris.
Then he saw a small hand.
A little boy was struggling to stay above the water.
Without thinking, the fisherman jumped in.
The current was brutal.
Twice, he almost disappeared beneath the waves himself.
But somehow, he reached the child and pulled him to safety.
The boy couldn’t have been older than seven.
Shivering, terrified, and completely alone.
When the rescue team arrived, they searched for the boy’s family.

Hours passed.
Then days.
Still no one.

It had been protected inside a plastic bag.
The fisherman couldn’t believe his eyes.
The photo showed his son helping a young family during a rescue mission years ago.
Tears filled the old man’s eyes as the boy explained:
“My parents always told me your son saved our lives. They said if I ever met you, I should thank your family.”
The fisherman broke down crying.
Ten years after losing his son, he learned that his son’s courage had continued to ripple through lives he never knew about.
