The Elephant Wouldn’t Let the Train Pass

Passengers were confused.

A massive elephant was standing in the middle of the railway tracks.

The train driver sounded the horn.

Once.

Twice.

Again and again.

But the elephant refused to move.

Minutes passed.

The train came to a complete stop.

People began taking photos through the windows.

Some were annoyed.

Others were worried.

Then the elephant did something strange.

It stepped forward, then backward.

Forward, then backward.

Almost as if it was trying to stop the train on purpose.

The driver contacted railway control.

Nobody understood what was happening.

Then a passenger looked beyond the elephant.

And suddenly screamed.

There was something on the tracks behind it.

Something nobody had noticed before.

Part 2 in the comments.

The passenger pointed toward the tracks.

Everyone looked.

A baby elephant had fallen into a deep washout beside the railway line.

Its leg was trapped between broken rocks.

The mother elephant had been trying to warn the train the entire time.

Railway workers and wildlife rescuers were called immediately.

After nearly two hours, they managed to free the calf.

The moment it stood up, the mother rushed to its side.

Passengers watched in silence as the two elephants walked away together.

Only then did people realize the truth.

The elephant wasn’t blocking the train.

She was protecting her baby.
