The book never left the shelf.

The mystery ended accidentally.
An elderly man entered the library.
Walked directly to the desk.
And asked:
“Did you find my flower?”
The librarian stared at him.
The man smiled sadly.
Fifty years earlier…
he met his wife in that library.
Every Monday he hid a flower inside her favorite book.

Because he promised her:
“Every Monday…
I’ll bring you flowers.”
The librarian cried.
The man smiled.
And carefully placed another flower between the pages.
