Every morning…
the old woman checked her mailbox.
Even when she had nothing left to wait for.

No return address.

Confused and shaking, she called the post office.
After a long investigation…
they traced the package to a storage unit auction.
Her son had been alive years after he vanished.
He had been working far away under a different name…
trying to rebuild his life before he felt ready to return.
But something had stopped him from coming home.
He never got the chance.
The woman held the watch close to her chest.
