Every night at exactly 2:17 a.m., a parrot in a small apartment started speaking.
But it didn’t speak normal words.
It repeated the same emergency message.
Clear.
Perfect.
Like a recorded call.
The owner, an old woman, had taught it simple phrases years ago.
But this was different.
Every night, the parrot said:
“Unit 4… smoke detected… please respond…”
Then it would go silent.
And stare at the hallway.
At first, she thought it was random noise it had picked up from TV.
But the pattern never changed.
Same time.
Same words.
Same direction.
One night, she decided to follow where it was looking.
She opened her apartment door slowly.
And saw something that made her freeze.
Light was coming from under the neighbor’s door.
And the parrot suddenly started screaming the message louder than ever.
Part 2 in the comments.
The woman rushed to the neighbor’s door and knocked hard.
No answer.
The parrot kept repeating the message nonstop behind her.
She called emergency services immediately.
Within minutes, firefighters arrived and forced the door open.
Inside, they found a small kitchen filled with smoke.
A forgotten pot had been left burning on the stove.
But there was no one home.
Later, the neighbor explained he had left hours ago and never realized the stove was still on.
The firefighters said another five minutes… and the entire floor could have been filled with smoke.
When the woman returned to her apartment, the parrot was quiet again.
It never repeated the message after that night.
But every time she passed the cage…
It was still looking at the hallway.
