The Taxi Driver Froze When He Heard the Voicemail

At 2:13 AM, the taxi driver picked up a woman crying outside a hospital.

She gave him an address across town and said:

“Please drive slowly.”

The entire ride, she kept staring at an old voice message on her phone without pressing play.

Halfway there, the driver noticed something strange.

The destination she entered…

was a cemetery.

When they finally arrived, she asked him one question that made his stomach drop:

“Do you think people can still hear us after they die?”

Then she pressed play on the voicemail.

And the driver immediately pulled the car over.

Part 2 in comments.

The voicemail began with a man laughing softly.

Then he said:

“If you’re hearing this… it means I didn’t make it out of surgery.”

The woman in the backseat immediately broke down crying.

The taxi driver didn’t know what to say.

But then the message continued.

“I asked the hospital to call you after I was gone because I knew you’d never come see me otherwise.”

Her hands started shaking uncontrollably.

Turns out the man was her father.

They hadn’t spoken in 11 years after one terrible argument.

Before the voicemail ended, his voice became weak.

“I waited every birthday hoping you’d forgive me.”

The taxi driver looked in the mirror and saw tears running down her face silently.

Then she whispered:

“I was too late.”

That’s when the driver noticed the name on the gravestone outside her window.

It was his own father’s name too.
