Why the Orange Cat Stole Fish Every Morning

Every morning, the old fish seller chased away the same orange stray cat.

And every morning…

the cat came back.

It never stole meat.

Never touched trash.

Only one fish.

Always the smallest one.

At first, the seller thought the cat was just hungry.

Until one rainy evening, he decided to secretly follow it.

The cat ran through crowded streets, crossed an alley behind the market…

and disappeared beneath an abandoned building.

When the old man finally looked underneath…

his heart completely broke.

The old fish seller slowly got down on his knees and looked beneath the abandoned building.

At first, he only saw darkness.

Then tiny eyes started reflecting back at him.

Kittens.

Five of them.

Curled together beside a broken pipe trying to stay warm.

The orange cat gently placed the stolen fish in front of them before stepping back.

The old man felt his throat tighten instantly.

Every fish she stole…

was for them.

Not herself.

The next morning, the seller arrived at the market earlier than usual.

This time, when the orange cat appeared beside the stall…

he didn’t chase her away.

Instead, he quietly placed a fresh fish on the ground.

From that day on, the cat stopped stealing.

And every morning after that…

the old man saved the first fish for her family.
