The dog slammed into the girl just as she slipped from the edge of the chair. Both tumbled safely onto the balcony floor instead of going over the railing. Her parents rushed out in panic, pulling her into their arms. Below the balcony, a broken railing section was discovered—already loose and unstable. If she had leaned a second longer… it would have been fatal. The dog stayed right beside her until she stopped crying.

was laughing

on the balcony.

she dragged closer

to the railing.

Inside the house…

the dog suddenly stood up.

Stared.

Then barked once.

Hard.

and into the balcony.
