The Suitcase Nobody Claimed

For 18 years…

An old suitcase sat untouched in the airport’s lost and found.

Tomorrow…

It would be destroyed.

Just before closing…

A teenage girl walked in.

“I think that suitcase belongs to my father.”

The janitor froze.

No one had ever said those words before.

Mark had worked at the airport for over twenty years.

Every forgotten suitcase had eventually been claimed—except one.

It had remained on the same dusty shelf for 18 years.

Just hours before it was scheduled for disposal, a teenage girl entered the office.

She held an old photograph of a young man standing beside the exact suitcase.

“My mother said he disappeared before I was born.”

Mark carefully unlocked it.

Inside were baby clothes, family photos, and eighteen sealed birthday letters.

Each envelope had a different age written on it.

Age 1…

Age 2…

All the way to Age 18.

Her father had written a letter for every birthday he thought he’d miss.

He never imagined she would one day read them all at once.

That night, the suitcase finally found its way home.
