Three years after her husband’s death, Emma found his old phone in a dusty drawer.
The battery should have been dead.
But when she touched it, the screen suddenly lit up.
One notification appeared.
“1 Unheard Voice Message.”
Recorded the night he died.
Her hands started shaking.
She pressed play…
and immediately burst into tears.
PART 2 IN COMMENT ❤️
Emma had spent three years trying to move on after losing her husband, Daniel.
One rainy afternoon, while cleaning the attic, she found his old phone buried inside a box.
The battery had been dead for years.
Yet somehow, when she picked it up, the screen flickered to life.
There was only one notification.
An unheard voice message.
Recorded at 11:47 PM on the night Daniel died.
With trembling fingers, she pressed play.
Daniel’s voice filled the room.
“If you’re hearing this, something happened before I got home. I just wanted you to know that every good thing in my life started with you.”
Emma’s tears began to fall.
Then came the part she never expected.
“I hid something in the old oak tree behind our first apartment. I wanted you to find it one day.”
The next morning, Emma drove there.
Inside the tree was a small metal box.
It contained hundreds of handwritten letters Daniel had written for birthdays, anniversaries, and difficult days he knew she would face without him.
For the first time since his death, Emma smiled.
Daniel had found a way to stay with her after all.
